August 2010: National Night Out

National Night Out is a neighborhood crime and drug prevention event that occurs annually on the first Tuesday in August and is celebrated in many cities in every state.  In addition to increasing awareness of crime and drug prevention programs, National Night Out also strengthens neighborhood spirit and community-policing partnerships, while sending a message to criminals that "neighborhoods are organized and fighting back against crime!"
