Be informed!

Citizens can now access Brunswick Police Department incident information via CrimeMapping.com's innovative on-line mapping software.  The information, updated once daily, is categorized into 14 different groups of crime types and plotted onto a geographical map of the City of Brunswick.

In addition to being able to access information for the city as a whole, citizens of the City of Brunswick are able to enter their own address to become more informed of the activity occurring in their own neighborhoods. The software is easy to use and provides accurate and timely data in the form of maps and reports.

This is just one of the ways in which the Brunswick Police Department desires to create better informed citizenry who are in partnership with us as we strive to create safer neighborhoods.

The "27th Annual National Night Out" (NNO), a unique crime/drug prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch, has been scheduled for Tuesday, August 3, 2010.  Last year's campaign involved citizens, law enforcement agencies, civic groups, businesses, neighborhood organizations and local officials from over 15,000 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities and military bases worldwide.  In all, over 36 million people participated in National Night Out 2009.

NATIONAL NIGHT OUT is designed to:

  • Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness;

  • Generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs;

  • Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships, and

  • Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
